PHTLS – Prehospital Trauma Life Support

Course Overview:
The Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) course is designed to improve the quality of trauma care and decrease mortality. Developed by the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) in cooperation with the American College of Surgeons’ Committee on Trauma, PHTLS emphasizes critical thinking and the principles of good trauma care for both basic and advanced providers.

Students will learn evidence-based trauma assessment and management techniques to provide the best possible care for the injured patient, from the scene of the incident through transport to the hospital.

Course Options:
Choose the option that best fits your certification needs:

• 🟦 Initial Course (16 hours) – Full certification for first-time students or those with expired cards. Hybrid format available.

• 🟩 Refresher Course (8 hours) – For current providers renewing their certification.

• 🟨 Skills Check-Off (8 hours) – Focused hands-on skills evaluation and scenario-based testing.

Certification:
Upon successful completion, students receive an official NAEMT PHTLS certification, valid for 4 years.
